Apple CrumbleApple Crumble
A fruity, crumbly delight! One of my all-time favourites.
Ingredients
Instructions
-
Peel and slice apples, place into a saucepan. Add a dash of water and 2 tablespoons of brown sugar.
-
Cook apples for 10-15min over medium-high heat until softened. It should be easy to pierce with the back of a knife, but not mushy.
-
Add flour and brown sugar to a mixing bowl. Cut up butter into small chunks and toss into the bowl. With the tops of your fingers, smush the butter and roll it with the flour and sugar until it forms a breadcrumb-like consistency. Then add the rolled oats and mix.
-
Spoon the apples into the baking dish, sprinkle 1 teaspoon of cinnamon over them, then pile the crumble mixture on top in the middle and spread around evenly with a spoon. Finally, scatter a tablespoon of raw sugar evenly over the top.
-
Bake in the over for 30-35min at 180deg celsius. Server warm with custard of vanilla ice cream.
